Default Sandy Beach and area??

Im looking for a hand from those of you who know the area. I am heading from Edmonton to Sandy Beach Sunday to pick up the girl from Brownies camp. I have the two little ones along with me and would like to stop somewhere for two hours of catch and release fishing, maybe for perch.
Is there a lake that I can get access to with all this snow? I have a 4x4. I honestly dont even know what lake Sandy Beach is on or what nearby.
I usually go NE to Bellis, Mons, etc and dont know the area NW of the city.
Any advice would be appreciated. I have the trip to make and wonder if there is somewhere to stop to wet a line.
Thanks.
kidd.

lakerman, Ive never tried it either. Have to dig out my Alberta fishing guide and check on it. I wonder what morinville reservoir is like? We caught a few little perch there last year. Its on the way too...all I want is the kids to hold a fish or two and let it go.
