Default Longbow Making Hickory Stave

I'm making my first bow from a hickory stave. I have taken the outer and inner bark off. Now I am left with white wood and areas that have a very slight pink color. Does this "pink" wood need to come off? It is only slightly more pink then the white wood.

All that needs to come off is the bark. You don't chase a ring with White Wood bows .
