Default Edmonton city council weapons situation

News announced the city council was evacuated to a stairwell. Video footage had what sounded like fun shots. Police have responded. Will be interesting to see what’s up.

Probably okay if it’s just “fun” shots

The proposed price increase on paper bags was likely more than someone could bare.

Elect clowns, expect a circus!

Knowing stupidhall they'll likely commission a 3.75 million dollar study to figure out why everyone is so p'd off with council.

Molotov cocktail thrown inside Edmonton city hall still don't know who fired the shots?

Gun crime? What? Probably fake news. Trudeau says his changes to gun laws have made Canadians safe. That's his truth and we just have to accept it.

Interesting comments to what most would consider to be a very serious situation.

Everyone inside city hall this morning got extremely lucky.

Sometimes you reap what you sow. I think this is a cold hard reality many people will learn in the near-future.

There is never justification for shooting people up in Canada over politics.

You kill their career with votes and not weapons.

It sounds more like a nutcase, or someone just snapped , rather than an actual attempt to kill someone.

When ever Molotov Cocktails are involved, you know someone has had enough of the government. It would seem that the person lacked the welding skills to go full out Kill-Dozer though.

First property tax hikes, then the garbage bins and recycling program, and, the final straw, the 15 cent paper bag tax. Yeah, there are some grievances shared my many people in the city ..... but popping some shots off in a government building???? yeah .... someone is getting some free rent for the next 20 years.

He will likely be found insane, if not, they will want a longer sentence than actual murders get, even though nobody was injured.

Was it the Danes that killed and ate their Prime Minister? I'll bet the next PM did things differently.

Depends what nationality the shooter is IMO.
If there’s a future publication ban on the identity of the shooter we can expect no final information on what happened and a lenient sentence….

Everyone remember the west ed mall shooting not long ago? No one talks about that because it was a diverse shooting.

I am not shooting up city halls, but the past has taught me what political revolution includes. You can preach from a soap-box all you want, but I am telling you, political revolution is never won with votes.

This won’t be the last occurrence either.

The video that was released from the City Hall meeting where Sohi and councilors were at the time the shots rang out was very odd. All the people showed obvious distress except for Sohi. He just rambled on and never even looked around and showed absolutely no concern like everyone else in that room. Very odd. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but will we see a complete lockout of the public from City Hall after this now?

The shooter was definitely not normal! Why would you walk in, fire a few shots into the glass, throw Molotov cocktail and then take off the jacket and try walking away? What did he achieve? No demands, nothing! What kind of revolution is that? I think it’s one of those nut cases from the tent city that was cleared out… Now he will have a nice warm place with clean showers and good food!

Meh. There's people getting shot everyday here and all they keep doing is taking more rights away from the innocent.
No one was even hurt there today. Can't see why it even made the news.
$0.25 paper bags. Now that's news!
Nothing to see here folks.

There is no need for an insurrection talk in Canada. That’s the divisiveness that Trudeau has driven into all people it seems… regardless of political affiliation.

Bet we can fight back against Trudeau’s spreading of hate by going back to the roots of vote, vote and vote and eventually the tide turns. It’s the way of politics.

Divisiveness and hatred disrupts democracy and instills dictatorships. Make sure your efforts don’t get mislaid.

Yup. I’d tend to agree with your analysis so far.

When the ruling elites no longer have to answer to the common man, democracy has already been disrupted. Political revolution happens to all forms of government too. And just for the record, as I failed to actually say it, I meant across all the western world, not specifically canada or alberta. Western democracy hasn’t had to use guillotines to bring the elites to reality. Yet. The fear of the guillotine is what keeps politicians and elites honest. The western world has no politician that fears the guillotine.

I agree. When I heard the story, this first thing I thought was it comes amidst the encampment closures.

Also, that is not the revolution; but other people will emulate his actions. It will happen again.
