Question Twisting Dacron

Hi

Just wondering, how much can you safely twist Dacron bowstrings to tune the brace height? I have a PSE Blackhawk #45 60'', and the brace height was low on both the original string and the new replacement, took about 20 twists to get it to 7'', and have yet to fine tune...

Thanks!

you can twist it till it starts to knot then take it back, If it is not working and you are afraid of the string I would order in a new string an inch shorter to start with......

60 inch bow should be shooting a 56 inch string

That bow takes a brace height from 7 to 71/2" Twist the string till you get to 7 1/2 then take it off and measure it.
AMO requires a string 3" shorter than the bow's length, but often manufacturers don't follow AMO specs. Thats why you need to measure it before ordering a new string. When you order ask for the actual length you need.
Dennis at Git-r-donearchery stocks strings.Billie-jo at Trophy Book also makes strings.
