Default New Hoyt

Well after Looking at and researching bows for months and shooting a number of great bows I decided that the Hoyt carbon element rkt was the one for me, even though its way more money I figured I would have it for quite awhile and they seemd to have a great rep for customer service and good warrenty... Well I bought the bow in march I believe and have had nothing but problems. They sent the bow with some cracks and marks on both the riser and the string stop, and they are giving me the runaround. I talked to a rep from Hoyt in the states and he said no problem it will be warrantied, but since I'm in Canada I have to go though all the middle men and they said they are not warrenting some stuff now. So it's now 4 months later and I don't have my bow as they wanted to look it first even though they have all the pics. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just the Canadian side that gets **** service from Hoyt? Anyway if the bow is warrantied and you trust them I will have a great deal on a brandnes element!!

I didn't notice the cracks on the riser till after I had broght it home and registerd it, the marks on the string stop were warrantied by the bow shop right away.

interesting...have had zero issue with my 2011 Element...have heard of the finish cracking on some but not the actual carbon...in any event i dont think thier worth the extra 300 bucks, but i will by another hoyt...sooo much easier tuning than my APAs...

Exactly why I bought the crx last year instead of the element! It actually says something about the carbon risers developing cracks and marks right in the manual I believe! Iirc it says they are purely cosmetic, and won't affect the strength of the bow!

x2. I love my CRX, does everything the Carbon ones do, for a lot less money. And, they don't look all funky, the Element bothers my eyes.

The big problem with hoyt is that the distributor is out of Quebec and for some resone they have always been a pain to deal with. It is not Hoyt directly.

Well that may be the problem but if they can't get a better rep a little closer who is good to deal with I'm guessing they will be loosing customers.

As mentioned, the problem lies in Quebec. Hoyt is super with warranty stuff in the USA, here you get a different problem. I won't stop shooting Hoyt because of what happens in Quebec, but it is would be very annoying and I feel your pain. Luckily, I have never had any issue with any of the 5 Hoyt bows I have shot over the years. None. Zero. I think that is the general story with Hoyt, the very odd time there is an issue......it is an exception.

Then the Quebec service comes into play unfortunately.

Is it just me, or does it seem anything that requires warranty in Canada, that is based out of Quebec, is destined for a run-around and a really bad experience......

I do hoyt warrenty all the time.. they are great to deal with. bow has to be registered but other then that good to go. you have to understand things dont happen over night..they have to get parts out of u.s. then the shop has to fix the bow.. all warrenty is the same. it takes time to get the parts.. drives me up the wall when guys get mad at the shop when we have to wait on parts. worst one i have seen was a bow we waited 6 months for parts..that was not hoyt but the guy was ****ed and i could understand.

Apperently Hoyt was warrenting cracks in the paint but now has decided to stop because of all the problems with the blacked out bows, I can understand that they can't be giving everyone Jo blow and new riser for every little crack, but they also can't garentee that the cracks are not also in the riser, so what's a guy to do? Keep shooting till it blows up in your face? Or cut your losses on a $1400 bow? Personally I don't think they should be selling them if they cant fix their paint/carbon, which ever it is. Lucky for me, when I called a rep in the states he said no problem we will warranty it, I just have to go through the Canadian rep. Who said they wouldn't do it. But because I had already been told by a rep that they would warranty it they had to.

My CRX developed splinters on the sides of the lower limbs. Mostly cosmetic and the bow could still be shot. Hoyt did warranty it and the shop had the new limbs on the bow within a few weeks.

I did go through the "Quebec Experience" with a set of Super Slam limbs (antique bow now ). I waited so long that I gave up and bought another bow.

My blacked out Matrix riser flaked and chipped just as bad as my Bowtech Invasion limbs.
