I have a 300wsm built on a 700 long action, never had any feeding issues myself personally and I'm even using the el-cheapo detached box mag made by kwik klip. I had a tikka in 270wsm that I still regret selling, never had an issue either.

Good round, probably splitting hairs between it and the 300wm at the end of the day. 300wm brass is now made by lapua though and 300wsm only has nosler as top end brass AFAIK.

I have a 300 wsm in a Browning.

Did you have any feeding issues with it? What brand? I think the mag design has a lot to do with the feeding issues.

I do not recall any feeding issues and to be honest its been awhile since I owned the rifle in question, so I have even forgotten which cartridge I was using in it.

What I do distinctly remember is running out of shells and not being able to find what I was looking for, with limited selection wherever I went and if you are in a small town with a small store that sells ammo good luck with that lol

Have a 270 wsm xbolt that my son uses and has not had any feeding issues.

I was reading this article the other day on short mag comparisons, and ran across this thread today. Have a read.

I have had an A-bolt in 300wsm and currently have a Sako 85 in 300wsm. I like having the same horsepower in a bit smaller rifle, but as mentioned above that benefit isn't there in a tikka. I've never had any feeding issues with either rifle, but agree there are shortcomings especially if you are hoping to load high BC bullets over 180gr.

I have a 300 wsm in a browning a-bolt never had a problem. Its my main rifle..not a big mountain hunter or anything but has 100's of rounds threw it and hasn't failed yet... My dads sako a7 in a 300 wsm had problems with the clip popping out the shells when reloading.
