Talking Dry Fly Swap. (Searching Patterns)

I'm putting this out there to see if anyone is interested in tying up their go-to searching pattern/favourite dry fly pattern for a fly swap. There are plenty of fly swaps going around right now, but there are a few people who may not have had the chance to get in on them. They filled up fast.

This swap may be more involved, as some of these flies will take a significant amount of time to tie up. In light of the people tying for other swaps, we'll leave some extra time for them to finish. Once the twelve positions are filled, we'll take 4-5 weeks to tie, and should have the swap buttoned up in 5-6 weeks.

I'm willing to host the swap. Let me know if you're in, and the pattern (including size) you'd like to tie.

Get in quick to tie your pattern, and no doubles. Size/colour are exceptions to doubles.

I'm in. I will tie a chernobyl stone. Once the stones/hoppers come on in mid july, it is a fly I always try. And a killer fly for the bow!

Hi Don,
Yep, certainly know that fly. My second choice for this swap was going to be a very similar fly... Except I would have called it a peacock caddis with a trailing shuck. Ha, the CFF has a much better ring to it. I don't know why it works so well in so many different situations, but it just does. Was this fly mentioned in Barry Mitchell's Trunk Road book, or does memory fail me....

As for 'how about the CFF' - I'd be happy to add the CFF to the swap!

Wrote an article that was published in Barry Mitchell's Alberta Fishing Guide magazine on the CFF after using it for a several years and catching 100's of trout on the pattern. And the best part, as a dry it is tough to keep it sunk which is makes it a good candidate for a dry/dropper combo.

Catch ya'

Default pattern TBA??

I'd like to get in on this, just a bit undecided on the pattern as of yet if that's ok?I've narrowed it down to 3 prospectors that are all traditionally Atlantic salmon flies but also great lil trout takers that I like for certain situations.
#1 is a Bomber,my goto dry for night fishing monster browns, dead drifted and/or skated.
#2 maybe Royal Wulff, nice lil high floating attractor fly that doesnt drown easily, high gradient cutty streams when theres no distinct hatch and good for dropper rigs.
#3 is a lil' lime green Bucbug I've dubbed the B5(Blackwater Beaverpond Brookie Buster Bucbug).....Gink it up and it just slaughters brookies on those dark, silty beaver ponds.

I am shocked there has not been more interest in this. Usually these things fill up so quickly!

Wow, looks like we are getting some great fly selections! I'm looking forward to seeig the flies. I was wondering when the stimulator was going to come into play. I definitely didn't expect it to fill up this fast. Looks like we'll be starting the swap fairly soon
