I’m driving a rented 2016 Cherokee with 30k miles right now, I like it more than I expected to. There’s some issues; the entertainment system is garbage, it has a rediculous huge turning radius and I’m pretty sure it needs new ball joints. I would not buy one but considering you could get this model for 30k it’s not awful.

My vote also goes to the Macan, I love that thing.

In all fairness I can say as a tech of 18 years not only would I never ever buy Ford, but Id never buy anything made in north america
Vw touregs gets my vote.

I have a nephew that has been a Ford tech for a number of years and he says the Edge suv is a good vehicle. In fact, I have two other relatives that have the Edge and they've had no trouble with them.

Since the OP hasn't responded to anyones' queries I'll nominate a Landcruiser FJ 40 with a 4bt Cummins in it.

This guy knows his stuff! Best suggestion yet!!

I also used to own an edge before the ex took it. Never had a kick of trouble with it. Parents own a 09 escape with over 400000km on it and while they did have an issue with a stuck valve other then general maintenance and aone recall the cars still running strong.

Can anyone give feedback on the value of the highlander hybrid. I'm looking at 2011-2014. Is the fuel saving enough to override the extra up front cost.
We do mostly city driving about 27-30000 km per year

Still in love with my 2016 Subaru Forester at 30,000 km.
Cheap on gas - Saskatoon to Calgary on one tank.
Capable of towing my folding Aliner trailer for hunting.

Just drove a Grand Cherokee rental in the US - hated it, a slug.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk seems cool. A 707 hp SUV is right up my alley.

The Piper PA-31 Navajo is nice. Saw one driving down 36th street in Calgary this morning.

I have an 2004 Grand Cherokee ltd. with a lift (4.75")..It is a bit hard on gas and will haul a trailer but I really don't use it for that purpose..It is a hunting wagon.
If you get in soft stuff she squats down, digs in, and pulls you through.. I have 17" rubber so she glides over the gopher/badger holes, not leaving you with the feeling that you may have left a wheel behind.

For the year has all the bells and whistles which are a bit of overkill but nice to have none the less'

My one complaint besides fuel economy is the lift, to high and harder on components verse a stock jeep but she will go a few more places then the factory rigs.

EXTRA bonus you can throw all your transmissions in neutral and tow behind a RV if your inclined to do so, without having to disconnect stuff or buying an extra trailer to tow it on.

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.
