Default Kid friendly spots?

I have a bit of time this summer to go exploring around Alberta.

I am thinking about bringing my two kids (7&5) with me and camping along a river and be able to fish right near the campsite. The kids will fish for a bit but I know they'll get bored and want to go do other things so I'm looking for a spot that's open so I can keep an eye on them at the same time.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Red Lodge park west of Bowden is good for kids. Swimming spots in the river as well as fishing.
I also enjoyed the Pembina at Evansburg, rafting and fishing all around the provincial park. The river takes a big bend and comes back to the campground.
Check Travel Alberta for campground links, they have lots.

Try Twin Lake NW of Rocky. There is camping within 100 yards of the lake. Polluted with perch so easy to catch. Swimming and provincial park programs are at Crimson Lake about 6 miles north.
Kids pond stocked with trout about 3 miles away.
