Default What does a muzzle loader compare too?

Ive getting into watching videos and reading articles about muzzle loaders and stuff and was wondering what does it compare to?

What does a 45-50 cal. TC pro hunter/ encore compare to? So would it compare to a 30.06 165gr bullet(just an example it probably doesnt...) Whats the caliber it would best compare to.

.50 cal loaded with 2/50 gr of pyrodex pellets== 30-30. This is my opinion as I've shot 100's of rounds of 30/30 ammo and I've owned my knight .50 cal for 8 years now.

You cannot compare most muzzle loaders to newer types of cartridges, but the 30/30 is about equal to a .50, yes.
A .50 cal round ball weighs 180 grains and runs slow out the barrel, but expands easily as lead has very good cohesion.

A .58 cal muzzle loader shoots a 280 grain round ball , and literally FLATTENS moose , deer , etc within its range capabilities.
