Exactly. There is drag which is the only force acting in the horizontal direction to slow the bullet down. Gravity has no affect in the horizontal direction as it is a vertical force. It only affects the length of time the bullet is in the air. I am sure most of us understand but it is tough to explain phyics on a computer screen!
Now that physics class is over, we can get back to the hunting talk!
