Default Favorite shotgun action ?

Okay guys and gals, here is the next one ( I was goaded into this - that's my story an' I'm stickin' to it!)
What kind of action in a shotgun do you like , and WHY??
Mine is O/U for everything EXCEPT skeet for which I use a pump as my preffered gun - nuthin' like doubles with a corn sheller!!

We were wondering how long it would take you to start this thread!

To answer your question; I'm an "O/U" kind o' guy ... through & through. However I do have one SBS Coach Gun that I sometimes use off-season, when I'm in the back country.

Default o/u

Always had a hankering for an o/u, and finally picked up a beretta 12g this summer. What can I say. Got rid of my semi, holding on to my pumps for sentimental reasons, and can't wait to get another o/u in 20g or 28g or maybe even a SXS. The only down side is my O/U doesn't fit in my safe properly. I should really have a proper safe for it anyhow. lol..

Being that I'm a recoil sissy and actually enjoy cleaning my guns on a regular basis, I gotta go with the gas operated semi. It's nice coming home after a full day of waterfowl hunting without feeling like I've just been in a bar fight.

For hunting, Beretta autos. Double guns are nice and I enjoy them, but you just can't make a triple, with a double...

No fluke to it, just optimum conditions.
I also cycle a pump faster than most guy's semis, and that is no fluke either...

All I have is an 870 pump, which I really like and never fails me. However, I shot a buddy's side by side (S/S?) and loved it. Is shooting an O/U much different?

The SXS is actually harder for most people to shoot than an O/U, becasue of the wider veiw with both barrels.

A break action shotgun also takes a bit of coordination in a layout blind or sneak box , because it takes up so much room to break it and then close it.
Some guys load them and then put them on safe, but i do not like to use the safety, I'd rather have the gun open till I am ready to shoot.
As was mentioned, it is very unlikely that a triple can be had with a break action as well, but most fellas worry too much about that , and miss the second or third shot most times!

Cat there is something very special in seeing to used hulls go shooting out of your barrel just as you crack it open. Then the sight of the curling smoke comming through the barrell is just plain pretty and somewhat hypnotic.

I like my Semi, perhaps the best I have swung, but I LOVE both of my O/U. Makes me want to go out and shoot again. Its been awile, but perhaps this weekend would be good.

I think I know some clays that are in need of breaking and I have just the gun for them.....

Thanks for posting this, I have been so wrapped up in Willys hocky, that I am afraid I have neglected my Citori. Oh god what happens if I take the Citori and ignore the Yildez.. Think she will get upset? The Fabarms Semi is guy tough, so I think he will understand, but that pretty little Yildez make get a attitude. Perhaps she will need to come for a box or 2.

At last count the originator of this thread had three BP cartridge SXS's and twp BP muzzle loader SXS's in the rack, all ready to go with either brass cases or FFG and #11 caps- ALL original- things are not ALWAYS what they seem!

Default It's gotta be a semi

I am an upland hunter, and I have always been a traditionalist, hunting with either a SXS or a O/U, however last year I was feeling like I needed a new shotgun and I let my buddy talked me into a Benelli Ultralight, I am hooked, it never jams, all and all it is simply awesome.
