Bank of Canada also has a place where you can check for any dormant accounts you may have forgotten about or a relative passed away with no beneficiaries. If you can prove it is yours with ID or can prove lineage I believe you can claim the money. The link is on this page where you can search for free.

CRA Access Tip 🔻
For those who don't have 'direct' access to their CRA account, your CRA account can be accessed via your 'Service Canada' account.

Service Canada Account sign-in link 👉 https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-...y-account.html

Logged in this morning and low and behold......2 outstanding cheques waiting for me! The grand total, a whopping $4.63.
Why don't they credit my account with the money? Seems a little ridiculous that each year is a separate entity.

There was nothing there for me (or the wife), but I just heard from a friend ...
"We found two uncashed cheques from 2011 (a year we moved). Total: $862."

Good for them ❗ 👍

Because if they keep 4 bucks from a million people, they can pay for justin's nannies.

With this new feature on their website ('Unclaimed Cheques'), that's not quite true anymore.

I checked all of ours a few weeks ago, no joy. Only time we found a bunch of money was when my wife went through a file of medical claims and benefits that I had kept at work and brought home when I moved companies. I had a bad habit of just throwing stuff in it without looking at it real close. She found half a dozen cheques in there going back quite a few years. She got the benefits company to re-issue the expired cheques. It was a real good chunk of money, no idea what she spent it on. Her view, I hadn't missed the money so finders keepers.

Why can't I sign into the darned thing? I'm trying to sign on using my banking info with the ATB which is a sign on partner but it just keeps giving an error report. Anyone else have issues like this?

Dave

It should work fine. I would call the support number, they will walk you through it. You are probably making a very minor omission.

Stupid question maybe but do you have an account set up?

I have gotten an error code before & tried it later & it worked fine

System must have been down for a bit.

I don't have an account and was trying to log in using ATB as a partner site to login. No such luck. I had the same problem with Veterans Affairs last year. I requested a login code that will come in the mail within 10 days. I'll just wait until it arrives.

Hey Dave ... you can also access your CRA Account, via your 'Service Canada' Account (they're linked).

Service Canada Account sign-in link 👉 https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-...y-account.html

That's how I always access my CRA Account ... I don't go there often, so I just access it through my Service Canada Account.

And like you, there was No 💲💲💲 waiting there for me.
