Being the Fossil that I am, I'd have to vote 6.5x55, and if you just have to have a modern cartridge, I'd go 260 Rem

Potato, Potatto. It will be interesting to see in a decade or so who makes the cut, I just don't see them all surviving. Add to the above, the 6.5x47 also a very interesting little round. I was sniffing around for a TRG in a 260, looks like they are all sold now, but Sako is making them in Creedmoor, so who the hell knows. Maybe the Creedmoor will put the others to bed, I doubt it, but it's fun trying to guess.

At the end of the day isn't it just a popularity thing? Is there the perfect cartridge/caliber combo that make the 6.5 more accurate? Once the bullet is in the air does that cartridge it was in matter?

The best thing about the CM is that it's easily resized to .250AI. Or soon to be known as .257 Creedmore

I suspect that almost any bottleneck rifle cartridge can be made to shoot well but there are a few that seem more well known for their performance.

Been hearing a lot about the 6.5 creedmoor, what is the parent cartridge for this caliber?

Not positive but I think it is the parent cartridge. I've heard guys can make brass out of 22-250 brass.

Parent case is the .30 TC. which was based off the .300 Savage.

Thanks, that puts it in perspective, I also heard about the 22-250 brass being used, so I was curious. I knew it was a wildcat, just didn't know what to compare it to.

I've also been looking into another 6.5. Was leaning to the 6.5x47, but with the CM being built in so many factory rifles you have to think it will likely win the longevity award.

Not yet, but they have released the 6 creedmoor, apparently the competition guys love it. I highly doubt it will have the same widespread success, as there is no shortage of 243 win ammunition or components of any flavor desired.
