Default Stowaway Fly Rod

Question to anyone who uses a 6 pc. Cabelas Stowaway rod often enough to know. Im thinking about probably 6/7 wt.
Ive heard that if a guy wants a certain weight you should get one next size down to do the job as they are somewhat stiff casting.
They are on for a decent price right now and i am buying one. Just not sure which size because of the above question aboiut stiffness.

Take your reel and cast away , it's the only way to go for figuring your style - Rod weight - line weight out .

I have the 6 weight, and I use a Rio Grand 6wt line with it. The weight-forward taper of the Rio Grand is a half size heavier and loads the rod pretty good. The rod may be a little stiffer than some of my others but it loads and casts fine. I don't use the rod much but it's been handy on some pack in trips and worked well even in windy conditions.
