Default An old Canadian Tire franchise now has guns

I stopped in at the Canadian Tire at the Pacific Place mall opposite Marlborough mall today and I was surprised to see that they had guns. Not near as many as the Crappy Tire on Macleod at Southland but at least it is a start.

Funny enough I can remember the K-Mart at the Brentwood village mall when I was a kid having a pretty well stocked gun counter WBITD.

Default Cochrane Ab

Canadian Tire in Cochrane has 75 feet of gun rack, powder, loading supplies and most everything a guy needs.

I bought a few guns at the K-Mart in Brentwood !

That's the way it should be. Everyone should own guns.

Many in the CT in Edmonton Windermere location. Mosin Nagants to new stuff. I was in early AM and nobody was around to assist me and I couldn't see the prices on their tags... So why aren't they listed on their website?

I bought a Ruger 77 with the tang safety, in the Pacific place store, in around 1988. Sold the stock off it, to someone here on AO, 3-4 yrs ago.

Okotoks too. Seems like Canadian Tire nationally is making a big push to become a gun shop. I definitely approve. Some of them have a significant stock of quality firearms. Now they just need to up their game in the ammo department, which hasn't changed much and is only marginally better than Walmart. Few premium choices.

I've heard that some actually carry reloading components.

I certainly have no issues supporting the Southland store, he stuck with it, thru all the krap and kept selling guns, when everyone else got out of it. And they have had some decent stuff in there along the way. If he doesn't have it, he is willing to get it. And he will price match, as long as the other guy has stock on hand.

Have spent most of my life within 3 - 5 miles of that old K-Mart ( Brentwood Mall ) , although I never bought any guns , I remember seeing them when I was to young for anything more than a pellet gun .

Actually , thinking back , It's possible that Dad bought our pellet gun there , certainly I remember buying more than a few cans of pellets there .

But on second thought , it probably came from Berotto Sports , as that was the go to hunting place for Dad .

The new Deerfoot Mall ( Deerfoot City ) Canadian Tire is expect to be open in about the 2nd or 3rd week of Oct .
I'm told it is to be about 3 times the size of the old one , and that it too will have a gun counter , I'm just not sure of the size .

A bit surprising , considering that Cabela's is the next building directly West of them .

Could be interesting , ... at least , it's one more place to by ammo
