Thanks guys so far I have now either I'm my posestion or been ordered .243, 270WSM , 7MMSTW and 300 RUM. Those calibers should take care of ranges from 0 - 1000+ yards. Now to get all my optics ordered.

Same here... I think that CZ is among the best value of a rifle for the money... I have access to a 7mm wsm, and getting ammo for it is hit and miss at the best of times... it's ok if you reload for it. Matrix ballistics is great to deal with for projectiles and often has stuff made and to me in 3 days. You might be able to find a kimber in 270 wsm... There maybe one here or on the ee on cgn.

I don't like the tikka until you get into the higher priced models...

OP, I'm sorry about the loss you took...

wowsers, that's sad indeed. Looked like some cla-$$y stuff there.

Have some family up that way that took a hard hit too.....but they're all safe, .. it's going to be slow going for them a while.

Hopefully everything will move onward and upward for you as you put the life puzzle back together.

IF...you're considering a new Tikka, there's some great deals around the country now. All the best, and good luck....Shortmag

Hard to beat the old 30.06, buy ammo anywhere and great all round caliber.
