New hope for a Type 1 diabetes cure
Scientists have cured Type 1 diabetes in lab mice using drugs already on the market to treat cancer, a development that could have enormous implications for the more than one million diabetics in the U.S. NBC's Robert Bazell reports.

They say they should know within a year how this can work in humans.

We've already cured cancer, but nobody cares! No money in the cure for pharmaceutical companies.

I actually know someone that was part of the DCA trials when it first came out. It did not make any difference and she passed away from the cancer. DCA sounded hopefull but didn't work unfortunately.

FishingMom was refering to it curing type 1 Diabetis. Every cloud has a silver lining. Be great if it was proven to cure type 1.

Rogain started out as a cancer drug allso. It just happens to grow hair as a side effect.
