What are you after, wet, dry, size of hooks, why does it have to be Metz? Lots of options, if your after small dry I'd look at capes. The womens hair dealy must be close to being played out, lots of cheap saddles will hit the market then. Another thing to look into if your looking for dry flies is cdc, if you hunt ducks all the better. CDC is magic for floating flies, the good stuff is a little pricey though, as I said if you have access to ducks, you've got it made.

Had a look around on the web, lots of supply compared to last year, is the hair feather thing dying?

Producers are ramping up, the frenzy of buying has leveled. Lots of good capes available. Should be some reasonable deals at the Fly fishing Expo.

The hair fad is dying as well....I know more than a few salon owners, and they all say it has dropped easily 50% from when it was at its peak.

Watch ebay in a few years, saddles for cheap. I bet more than a few will get burnt.

I find that costs have pretty much leveled out to where they where before the flurry of buying for the hair industry. Cheap capes $28+ Good genetic capes with fine stems, $60+. Just bought a couple of beautiful iron dun capes for $48 ea. Which is great. It's only the very long genetic saddles that went crazy for a while, you could always find standard rooster capes cheap. Just as good you just have to pick through the feathers more and dont get a few dries out of one feather.
