Default Liberals Changing Laws Concerning Voting for Refugees

Now the Liberals are changing the laws to allow the refugees that they are bringing in ,to vote in the next federal election.

Doesn't one have to be a citizen of the country first ?? Too bad one doesn't have to be a taxpayer, secondly.

Section 3 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms specifies 'citizens'. A timely court challenge could lock that legislation down tight....

The article's misleading.s The Liberals are changing the length of time in Canada from 4 in 6 to 3 years in 5 so the Syrian refugees that came in can actually apply for citizenship and be able to vote by the time that the next election roles around. Don't worry, it applies to every one coming in as a pr.

if your a registered Canadian I don't see a problem. if they are handing out PALS after a welcome id be concerned though

They have been doing it 10 years ago already. I had my PAL before I had a chequing account.
