Default .308 Bullet Identification

This is an old .308 190 gr RBT with a very small meplat. I found them in an old beat up Hornady box with all the labels missing and cannot find a reference to a Hornady bullet with a rebated boat tail. Any ideas as to who made them?

Thanks

Yes. it does look very much like a Dale Janzen bullet. I have some of his but I think these may be 30 yrs old. Maybe Dale could shed some light on a .308 190 gr ... or if he ever made them. Its a 100 qty box as well.

I do remember seeing rebated boattail bullets a long time ago, and I believe that they were made by Hornady. Lapua also made them.

I think you nailed it Elk. I researched a bit more and found that Hornady did make an RBT many years ago. (1970's) These are not Lapuas as the shape is different.

They are almost identical to the Maitrix 194 gr.

These bullets are 1.40 long with a meplat dia. of .95. Maybe a 10 ogive

If anyone has a use for them, let me know.

Tks
