Default Moquitoes

It occurred to me that all the flooded areas are in for an infestation of the horrible little creatures after the sun comes out.I watched the Calgary mayor swatting then during an interview on Friday morning and he said they were bad then. There is going to be a million places for the vermin to thrive in a week or so.Wonder if there are any plans to spray hell out of them?

Hahahahaha.....this is the 3rd mosquito thread in 3 days I believe?

Nevertheless....ya Calgary better look into some mosquito control measures.

But first priority is still cleaning up and getting people settled again.

Very unlikely. I have never noticed Calgary to have a good mosquito control program like Edmonton. They talk about it. Just before the floods the wife said she thought she saw a helicopter spraying in the city limits. That may of been mosquito control.

As for a rush of skeeters. 14 - 19 days from now expect another massive wave of skeeters. They lay eggs at the dry side of the waters edge...there they sit for years until the water floods them again. Numerous generations can hatch at once.

I know this is hearsay....but I heard that the environmentalists got the skeeter control spraying stopped here in Calgary?

It's been 2 or 3yrs since last spray?

True or false....I dunno???

I know they sprayed nose hill and some of the other green areas last year. There were signs posting not to walk your dog for a few days do to it.

Likely a herbicide.

Doubt it. If anything it would be budget driven. The Main product is BT which is a bacteria that kills the larvae. Not toxic.
