Typically these State Auctions are a mixed bag of different types and qualities of coyotes. They use the prices for all coyotes sold to calculate the auction average. FHA only uses the prices for 1st section pelts to determine the auction average. Due to that, and FHA grading different types of coyotes separately, the averages for coyotes at State Auctions is always lower than those of FHA.
Based on previous Idaho auctions, the average for coyotes is lower than it usually is. Montana hosts the Western Fur Auction in mid-February. The results from that one may provide enough insight to make a decent guesstimate of what coyote prices might settle at.
Beaver and red fox look alright to me.
