Default Boat Cover Recommendation

Looking for recommendations for places to get a custom boat cover made. Boat is a 2005 Crestliner 1650 Sport Angler. Tired of buying universal fit covers that fall apart after a few years. Looking for places in and around Calgary. TiA

Canvas Mart did my dads boat. Even installed the snaps on the boat.

Canvas Mart the only business or person of any kind I've given a negative on-line rating to. I had an absolute circus with them & was very disappointed.

Don't know if they are still around but SEW WUT in Calgary makes the best custom tarps you can find.

I tried SEW WUT and they were too busy and would have taken a couple weeks to get it in. I heard really good things about the quality of work. I tried Canvas Mart and did not like their attitude. They almost talk down to ya (out the door I went). Ended up at Airdrie Canvas. Cover fits like a glove. Very satisfied with the fit. Just don't cheap out on the material. My previous cover was a custom made by Alberta Tent and Awning. Lasted at least 8 yrs. but the owner which I knew personally retired and sold the business.

Try Gary at Auto Marine Upholstery. He’s done about 5 custom boat covers and one full boat enclosure for me.

Mind if I ask about how much Airdrie charged? By the foot or depends on each boat?

I can’t say enough about the cover that Artisan mobile upholstery made for my superhawk. It is definitely a custom cover with quality materials and workmanship. They are located about 15 mins east of Sherwood park on hwy 14.

Seems if they can find a pattern for your particular boat then they use that. If not they can make from scratch. They take into consideration all the extras you have on your boat eg: down rigger mounts, rod holder mounts, electric troll mount bracket and reinforce all spots and also windshield. I'm sure all shops do the same.

[QUOTE=barbless;4534272] I tried Canvas Mart and did not like their attitude. They almost talk down to ya (out the door I went).

I was very sure that was a well-practiced approach. You could have given them $4500 so they could be even more smug in their lectures & explain why they didn't provide the materials & installation quoted. Or their internet references ad nauseum to the point in time I asked what boat they run??? Umm, don't have one but the internet says.........
