Johnny hockey has some of the worst on ice body language I have ever seen.

And I’ve coached minor hockey for 10 years...

Crazy year. Kudo's to the Flames for making the playoffs. It was better series than the final score of this game.

See you guys next season

I was visiting a good friend I haven't seen for a while. Missed the whole thing. And yet, I feel like my time was much better spent enjoying time with a friend and his family, having a bbq and hanging out at the firepit, sharing a bottle of good wine.

Life goes on. The Flames get paid to play a game and entertain me, and they have this year. Now it's over. I don't get paid to cheer, or pout, so tomorrow is just another day.

I know lots about hockey..................... panic set in............. big save Dave was no better than Talbot and the rest rest of the team packed it in, after they were up 3-0 they played like a team that wanted out of the bubble.

Maybe you were watching a different game ??????? or maybe you don't know anything about hockey ????

I'd take that any day, over a hockey game in the summer! Even being a diehard Oilers guy, this is what life's all about!

Hockey will be back in December...maybe...maybe not...

up three...faced some bad bounces...pull goalie...for a reset...was going to put Talbot back in but had equipment issues....no save Dave fought every shot...too little to late...end of the day its 60 minutes and over that long of a series your weakness is exposed...the team collapsed...imploded...now Alberta can rest and refocus….

Well, that didn't turn out the way Flames fans would have hoped. Been there.

I was paying close attention to some former Oilers.

Talbot - Sure, he maybe would have like a few back but much like last year when Smith was the best player on the ice, you could probably say the same for Talbot this year.

Lucic - Nice turn around. Really. Looked like a completely different player. Good on Looch or Ward or both. Oiler fans knew that Lucic's real value is in the playoffs. Unfortunately, we never got there often enough.

Reider - Another nice showing. It couldn't have been easy the way Nicholson chewed him out last year with "if Toby Reider scores 12 goals, the Oilers make the playoffs" but he shook it off.

Next year. See ya out there.

Agreed! Plays scared, always looks "so hurt" coming back to the bench shaking his arms, won't go into corners, plays very predictable. Hack his wrists and he's a whining ghost!
BYE BYE Johnny hockey. New home for you!

Nah. I live around the Edmonton area. That would be like cheering for China during the Olympics. It don’t make sense.

ashamed flames fan vent

1) rookie coach panicked and now both goalers confidence is shaky

2) With Lucic you get some heart and some great sneers but also bonehead plays

3) With Tkchuck you get karma ( Scheiffle) and injuries (missed last year playoffs )

4) Flames near the bottom of block shots which directly correlates with " I choose not to do whatever it takes" how many of the Dallas goals were a result of shots that got through?

5) In the playoffs Goudreau looks and acts like an Atom playing up with the Bantams because his Dad bullied the coach

6) Except for Tkchuck this team has no HEART!

Must be something in the Alberta water

I was working late and seen they were 3 up, the Oil are out so was looking forward to coming home and watching the win. What a surprise to see the score at the end of the 2nd.

I guess both Battle of Ab teams didn't have too much battle. Weird year, weird season still sucks the Canadian teams are falling off so easily.

Coincidentally that is the game that upped Looch's market value considerably

No he didn't. Talbot had 8 SOG and Dallas had 3 goals, you can't leave him in.

True, unfortunately he wasn't alone.

I'm confident Johnny will be traded, or every avenue explored, in the off season.

Well, that's a bit of a slap in the face to Bennett, Dube, and Mangipane....

If only Lucic would have had some help.
Can't carry the team all the time.......

Did you see that hat flip Tkachuk did in the stands?
Clearly he is fed up with his team and will want a trade!

So the best option is to throw in a cold, inexperienced goalie?

Yes. Talbot's SA % was 0.625. You really gonna run with that for 2 more periods? Remember last year, coach leaving Smith in for 4-5 against and then pulling him when we're down by 4? Like that's going to do anything.

It's 3-3, call a time out, light a spark, throw a new goalie in, lets start fresh, it's a 2 period game. Didn't work, but it's tough to win a game when it's tied 3-3 and you don't score any more goals.

Change the names and your critique would be applicable to any Canuck game . . . . Guessing you were born after the Canucks begged to be in the NHL ? Askin' for a friend

Been a Flames fan since they came to Calgary but lets face it nobody looked at this team in Oct an said its a Stanley Cup contender just happy to see them play some playoff hockey now to see what Brad can do to make this team better for the next season.
