B3 Hawk release
GT XT Hunter 300 spine at 28.5 inches

Default I run 2 setups

APA M6 - 62# at 28"
Spot hog 7 deadlly pins (might change this out... too busy)
QAD Ultrarest
no stab at the moment
GT Velocity xt 340s with 100 Gr brass inserts
Muzzy 125 gr broadheads
476 gr
Fuze quiver
Trufire hardcore release

Trad:
55 lb checkmate hunter (Shedua elm Hickory riser) 56" recurve drawing 55#@28" with a 12 strand FF string and beaver silencers.
Arrows are ash 75# turkey fletched shafts with Grizzly 190Gr single bevels
Arrows are riding in a selway slide on rawhide quiver - Might upgrade this to a Great northern.
the arrows are heavy hitters and deaden the sound of the bow to a thud. I forget the weight of these but I think 605 rings a bell.

My 65# herb Meland Pronhorn is tuned to shoot the same shafts but I have not hunted with it much.

I set up a Black 3 for a gentleman this fall, very nice bow. Too bad there isn't many places carrying them and Lawrence at Accurate was a big loss when he shut down.

this set up has resulted in no wounding, and 18 lost arrows no deer were harmed by this set up yet, it has given me hundreds of hours of pleasure in the bush and in yard reducing stress.

Damon Howett Hunter (Bought in 1968)
55 lb with 28" Draw length
Wood shafts and Easton Aluminum shafts turkey fletched
Tried a lot of different broadheads over the years but go back to my classic Bear
Calf hair tabs
Leather back quiver for roving, bear bow quivers, and Catquiver for long treks.

Well over 50 deer and one moose and an elk, countless birds and bunnies. Yes, I have had a few compounds, but never really enjoyed shooting them. Lots of joy in the outdoors through the years although it's harder to climb into a tree stand these days.

Shot PSE for a lot of years but since 2015 been shooting an Elite. Really happy with it as my last PSE had over aggressive cams and I had a bit of a shoulder injury and struggled my last year with the PSE especially in extreme cold weather pulling it.

- Elite Synergy 60# 28.5" draw
- IQ 5 pin bow sight
- Mechanical and fixed blade broadheads - Rage / G5 cut on contact 100gr
-6 arrow fuse quiver
-Elite QAD drop away arrow rest
-Thumb release (really tightened grouping)

Moved to this arrow set up this year. Was AMAZING. I very highly recommend anyone shooting lighter then 500GR arrows to try a heavy set up with high FOC and a Broad head made of thick quality steel that can be Sharpened easily to razor sharp! Makes a world of difference in the blood trail.

This is my new favourite thread
Never hunted yet; can’t wait.
Currently practicing with a Quest G5, 70# draw and 29.5” draw. Looking to upgrade but it’s a good practice bow and I love it. Look forward to being able to afford an upgrade.
I also recently bought a recurve through Amazon (I’m not rich) and though it was a very “affordable” bow it meets my current needs. Only a 55# draw but feels nice.

Very curious where you all would recommend shopping, practicing, etc.
I live in parkland county and haven’t been to any local spots in years.
