Calgary Archers no more?

I used to be a member of the Calgary Archers on Highway 8. I'm sure I'm not the only AO member that are familiar with the CA.

Going to the website for Calgary Archers http://calgaryarchers.org today and I'm sorry to read that they are no more....

I'm hopeful that they can find an alternative piece of land to re-establish the club. I was just considering joining again. Looks like I'll have to wait and see.

Yup they got booted out by the city, it's strange that there was no public outcry like when other shooting ranges are shut down...more of a whimper. I doubt that land will be replaced anywhere and I have no idea where folks are going to shoot. There is the AHEIA range at dewinton for some simple field targets.

Hey I was a member the past yr.
We received a notice a few months ago saying the city would not renew there lease. i believe the reason was the city was using it as a staging area for equipment for the construction of the new ring road (west section)

as far as I know a new location was being looked at, but nothing has been decided as far as I know
