Default Meals

I've got a few cases of scrambled eggs with ham and peppers. They're out of date by a few months but as you k ow with this stuff a date doesn't mean much. They sell for about 6.50 a pack in the stores I'll sell them for um...how about 4 bucks each? I like them, they work well and a nice hot breakfspast in the morning

Freeze dried stuff lasts ages, if it doesn't contain much fats which in theory may go stale. So bestb4 date is pretty much for lawyers.

Anyhow, my supply is running low too, will be glad to hear about goo sources, too.

I buy my freeze dried meals from mec.
About a dollar cheaper than the cheapest store I have found that carries them. They ship it to your door for free if you spend over 50$.

Costco has bulk MH, but you can't pick the flavours. You're only saving a couple bucks over picking them up individually.

Default Freeze dried

Hey tork don't get your panties in a bunch past date food won't kill you. In fact on the open market they sell cammppnned food with no dates the Canadian importers put their own dates on . I've sold three pallets of this stuff and no one has died yet and I'll be eating it this weekend.

I freeze dry my own meals. Eggs, stroganoff, chicken, turkey, stews, rice, or any combo of almost anything, even ice-cream sandwiches. If you want some meals freeze dried, cook 'em up and freeze 'em, then bring it all over. I'll freeze dry it in the machine for cheap.

How did you wind up getting three pallets of freeze dried eggs? Please don't tell me you found all theses perfectly good meals at the dump the were just slightly expired, lol.

Heh, I've got a bunch of MREs, about 10 years out of date and they're still good. Get Real.

I'm guessing here, but Chef is involved with a bunch of groups, including kids at the hunter training camp, leftovers. Good Guy with a good attitude.

X2 MEC is the best place for selection and cost. Tried other brands but always go back to Mountain House.........'cause they are the best.

Default Mre's

I bought them as surplus and they weren't all eggs by the way . I've also got pretty thick skin and I do find it slightly ironic that a chef is flogging this stuff. But I've made damn. Near 3000 bucks doing it, so I guess I get the last laugh.

Default Stroganoff

The only stroganoff I have is in a "heater meal" format. They heat themselves through chemical reaction, but I've sold most of them and need to keep a couple cases for myself. Wonderful thing when your backpacking by the way. I get them going and toss them back into my pack and then hike for another 20 minutes. When I stop I've got a nice warm meal ready. I couldn't believe how nice it was this past spring to be standing in a rainstorm and eating a hot meal.

Must have bought ten cases of these when chef had them. Real convenient for days in the field. sold off most to freinds and family and they all like 'em.

Don't eat too many or your fingers swell something awful.

Nothing wrong with drinking twice as much water. After a hard day in the mountains you probably need it anyway.
Keep it together, rob
