Since it was the last day of the season I had to take the day off work and try and fill the freezer until next year, unfortunatly the big buck I have been chasing all fall was not around where I have seen him twice this year, so I drive to my usual spot and jump out of the truck and start walking to some shrubs that border a whack of willow trees, and see a smaller buck about 20 yds infront of me, he notices me and runs away, right there i am thinking this could be a long morning if i scared any deer around here off. I get to my spot which took 3 minutes to walk to, sit down and give 2 quick grunt calls and a tickle of the antlers and this 4x4 runs out from the willows, I give him another quick grunt and he runs towards me and stops about 30 yards from me. The rest is history. From the time I left my truck to the time the deer was down was about 5 minutes. I have been hunting all fall and it was never this easy, and of course had to be the last day and a day I had to take off work Also one of his tines broke off when he fell against a tree But hey, he will still taste the same
