In Washington State, Hunters May No Longer Be “Necessary to Manage Wildlife”

An emerging wildlife war has its first skirmish this week in Spokane, where a reformist group is looking to deprioritize hunting and hunters.

Ever seen an “appointed commission” do any good? If there’s one thing that needs banning, it’s people being appointed into authority.

The entire left coast is a write off. It’s unfortunate, but wherever these eco terrorists are allowed to speak, people are locked out of participating in nature

Sounds a lot like Y2Y and CPAWS up here. Probably funded by the same jerks.

Also the typical left wing mentality: I don't like it so nobody should.

This is the "Compassionate" wildlife management model.
The intent is to have the North American model of Wildlife Conservation (NAMWC) become a thing of the past.

The implementation of this model gained traction here in Alberta back when certain biologists were pushing to put Bighorn sheep on the draw system. I spent years here on AO and within the Alberta hunting interest groups trying to get people to understand, of which most simply would not take the time to read what was going on.

This change in wildlife management is not solely on the shoulders of anti-hunters.
Hunters themselves are responsible for the decreasing value put on the NAMWC, in particular through increasingly allowing Paid hunting (Outfitting and paid access) to become a greater component of the hunting system.
