Sweet battle scar! I'd hate to see the other guy...maybe that's the reason why Tree didn't post 2 pictures?

As hilarious as domestic violence jokes can be, I better set the record straight.
Shrub took a knee in gym class. When I picked him up at school today, he was all bundled up and wanted to chat instead of just getting into the warm truck as usual.
After a couple minutes of this, I just said, "Get in kid!". He says, "Look at my eye!". Seems he was rather proud of it until I failed to notice it at first in his -35 windchill gear.
His quest for sympathy was greatly misplaced considering he and his little sister have already managed to generate 3 on her part including a 'splitter' that the doc had to look at! Dang kids!
Shiners are a boy's right of passage, and we've had a bit of fun with it tonight. I'll try and post a daily pic just to bring back some memories from the times when the little things like that ached less!
As always...stay tuned.

Don't feel bad tree.
Mine took and did a face plant tonight in the hallway on our way to our house.
He was pushing one of those flipper cars that have tires that light up. (he lost remote ages ago, but loves to push it)
Bloody nose, gouge out the side of it.
Boys will be boys

Tree - Tell him "scars add character .... and girls like character"
My 13 year-old son was pretty pleased getting all sorts of attention from the girls showing around his skateboarding scars - until his buddy got knocked of his mountain bike and chewed up a little by a momma grizzly! Suddenly that kid had the bragging rights!

Update time. Day two. Things are progressing nicely, although Mrs Tree fails to share our enthusiasm!
The 'Shrub' was still a little peeved with me this morning for not noticing it right away. I explained, "Now you know how your mother feels after she gets her hair done." (This was naturally explained out of range of some amazingly accurate earshot! )
I shared Thumper's advice with him for the whole story-telling thing, so needless to say he's had the BEST DAY EVER!!!! Thus far only two phone calls from utterly horrified parents who haven't yet been introduced to the unique comedic stylings of 'The Family Tree'!
Stay tuned......

Edit: Please feel free to post your own 'Shiner' pics and tales. Should be good for a chuckle or two!

I thought you going to show shrub with his first Stihl chainsaw taking out a Doug fir, while his tree hugging school class watched and then formed a support group.
That is a good looking kid you got there. I suspect girl problems in the not too distant future for the young guy.
I know. Bad Kitty!!!

GL, glad ya got the 'Bad Kitty' joke. The tree felling pic is a couple years away, but here is one from '07 that will have to do until then....... look close.
I suspect they'll be many 'shiners' in his future!

lmao!
I was going to post a pic under this thread of my boy losing his first tooth with a humor statement but with a bit of blood but that may seem too much for someone without a sence of ha ha, or the cops might show up!
I dont think the wife would ultimatly be impressed either.

My daughter got her first shiner 2 summers ago, we were loading the required paddles into the boat, and i turned around too fast and wham......caught her right beside the nose....a few tears later and feeling about 6 inches tall the younger daughter looks at me and says " man moms gonna kill you when she finds out" I now felt about 4 inches tall , then the oldest laughed, so we all laughed and went fishing !

Considering the tree is directly across the street you should have seen Mrs Tree's reaction!
As it would seem, chicks only dig the scars NOT inflicted by themselves! OUCH!!!!
