Just a general comment about bases for the Vanguard.
One issue when buying bases for the Weatherby is that some manufacturers recommend using the same base as for a Rem 700. The screw holes match, which is why I assume they make the recommendation.
The rear base on the Weatherby needs to be taller than the rear base on the Rem 700. My scope almost ran out of vertical and I solved the issue with an offset insert in Burris Sig Zee rings.
I later went with Talley lightweights made specifically for the Vanguard. They are made with correct mounting heights.
Two piece bases with the correct heights for the Vanguard do exist. If the manufacturer suggest the same base for the Rem and the Vanguard, keep looking.
