Buying boots online?
Well with the loss of Wholesale Sports in Edmonton, our options for places to buy hunting boots has diminished.
I used to love my Irish Setters. My first 2 pairs were great. Then the next pair, same size, same model didn't fit the same so I bought new insoles. That helped. Shortly after, they started to squeak. Irritating. I picked up a pair of Under Armour boots on clearance when Wholesale was closing. Another disappointment. Poor quality.
I checked at MEC and Camper's Village but they don't have anything with much insulation in them.
Anyone order them online? Seems like a hassle if they don't fit right.
Any other good places to go in or around Edmonton for good hunting boots?
Thanks

Ive bought boots from blackovis and other stores online before and had good luck
Id honestly look for a canadian dealer so you dont have to worry about customs and duties
Any reputable online retailer will take your returns back as long as you follow their rules and they dont have any visable wear
If you do order anything, i would order at least 2 different sizes and return the ones that dont fit
I went with the crispis last year. Great boots

Lasthunt.com seems to have some pretty good selection when I last looked... but sizing can be limited

Thanks bud! I had never seen that site before. I was a little disappointed that there was no hunting stuff though. LOL
I took a chance on a pair of Merrell boots that I would never be able to find here to try on.

Yah I just found them a bit ago, would be awesome if they had hunting gear, but if you aren't worried about camo theres some good deals on technical clothing in there

Try Monods. I’ve ordered online from them and was pleased with results. Also Lathrop and Sons, but the exchange is a killer

Great North Precision in Kelowna carries Crispi’s.
Traced and measured my foot, cross referenced the sizing guide and ordered the Hunter model. Fit perfect and are now breaking them in.
I was apprehensive at first but had time to exchange if they didn’t fit right.

I bought a pair of the Cabelas branded Meindl Lite Hikers before I went to Montana to shoot TAC at Big Sky, was kind of worried about breaking in boots on the Mountain. So I broke them in by wearing them on the 12 hour drive down. Wore them all three days, for like a glove no blisters and super comfortable. One of the best footwear purchases I have ever made.

Wow! I haven’t had that experience... yet. Hopefully I don’t. Good
News they have a “lifetime” warranty.

Haha...Good question! You can get Lowas, scarpas, hanwags and another brand through them custom fit. Not a fan of Kennetreks myself. Currently have hanwags but like you said they wore out super fast. Will be trying Lathrop next pair

Maybe you bought the Made in Korea Cabela’ branded Meindl boots with bad reviews. The lite hiker is made in Italy and has good reviews

Saw a sale on Irish Setter boots reg price $229 on sale for $83 at Latulippe in Quebec on line. Went to the west end Red wing store to try them out and get a good fit. Then ordered them. Free shipping on orders over $50 at the time. Check it out https://www.latulippe.com/en/

I’ve ordered Scarpa online through Sportchek. They were true to my shoe size so it wasn’t a hassle at all. They even warrantied a pair for me when I had them too close to the stove. Brand new pair showed up very quickly.
