Default Dry Dog Food for Coyote Bait?

I scrounged up a couple of tons of expired dry dog food and I started making meatcicles out of it. The birds absolutely love it but so far the coyotes haven't showed any interest in it. I'm thinking that I need to add some scent to it. I may put some chunks of beaver trim in it and let the scent get absorbed by the dog food before freezing it. I'm also considering opening canned dog food and mixing it in before freezing. Anyone have any other thoughts about how to make these meatcicles more attractive to the yotes?

Yeah, I PM'd him and he told me that it was a failed experiment for him. There's no smell to it.

Well I don't know if it helps but my brother is using dog and cat droppings to attract coyotes. He also uses commercially available scents and lures but he says that those droppings are working the best.
