....and the goalies in those days didn't wear equipment that made them look like they should be playing lacrosse

Yes the game sure has changed, but elite players have a way of making anyone look bad - still happens today (see a McDavid highlight reel).

You could tell Gretzky wasn't the fastest skater but he knew everything that was happening on the ice.

Rest in peace Dave Semenko.

Those fists helped protect 99 and make him as effective as possible.

It would have been great to see Gretzky and Orr both in their primes, going head to head.

Thanks for the link. Brought back lots of memories of watching those two work their magic. The game is so much different today, and the coaches coaching systems instead of creativity! It's all because of the money involved.
