Tricky question.
For 500.00 you could get a used Mathews SBXT or a BoTeck or a Hoyt.
Top of the line bows but buying used you just don't know if it was
dry fired.
If I was you, to spend less than 750 then I would try to buy one of the
above manufactures if "I knew the owner". Otherwise go with a new PSE or
Bear etc as new.
Once a bow is dry fired it is basicly trashed.
No matter who makes it.
Unless you buy new, it's someone's words.
On the other hand, many people buy and sell bows that are not
"dry fired" and are perfectly fine evey day simply because they have
more money than brains. So there are in fact many fine used bows
out there.
Less than a year old simply because some idot wants to try and buy
and turn a dime.
So you need to look around and see what's out there.
Wow, never thought about it but I bet it holds true with the crossbows.
If one was dry fired ...
Buy it used ok ?
