Default Recommendation shore fishing sylvan or pigeon?

I wanted to use my one.man pontoon but the wind looks like it might be to strong.

Any shore fishing worth trying at either lake? I'm thinking the marina or pier at sylvan?

Never shored fished either...so any info would help...

Tnx

Happy

Forecast here is for SE Wind gusting up to 60 Km/h for at least the next 2 days.

Stick to the Bow.

Shore fishing Pigeon is limited. Not sure about the regs now. Locals used to fish from shore at the Tide Creek tributary bridge on the west end near Fisher Home. Tide Creek might be permanently closed now. Fishing off of the long stone pier at Mameo beach used to be ok but they dismantled the stone pier and it is no more. Otherwise, a person would have to wade out a ways to start fishing at most places. Docks would be pulled already too. Shore fishing the shallows in spring and summer can be ok for spot and stalk perch if you can find them.

Not sure about shore fishing at Sylvan.

Not so sure the perch are totally gone. A person would have to go wade the north shoreline shallows in May and June. Then a person would know.

It’s probably safe to say perch will never be completely wiped out, they just breed too prolifically, that being said as long as the walleye population is kept artificially high the pike and perch numbers will be dismal. Walleye are just too effective of a mid level predator that perch and juvenile pike have a low survival rate.
