Was out on the 5th and the Ice is 7" to 9" clear on the South end. Caught 10 small ones over the day, bite was great.

I’ve been out to grand view. About 400 yards out I’ve seen 11” down to 5” in less than 20 feet away.

Great weather day Saturday at Lower Chain...sunny no wind and 6-7 inches of ice. Slow fish day for us but met a friendly CO checking licenses. Still hunting tigers.

hit Grandview this afternoon ice was 8 to 12 inches lots of water on top of ice now due to warm wind.
caught walleye in 16 feet
fishing partner seen one white fish in 10 feet .

Lower k has 4 inches out from lower lake day use and 3-3.5 inches at panorama day use by the spillway. Didn't make it to spray but have seen pictures of people skating and fishing so I'm guessing similar to lower k around the 4-5 inch range

You “dropped your quad”? More details please. Just front tires went in or whole quad? Did you get it out or is it at bottom of lake? How did you get it out? I’m just curious because I drive a quad for ice fishing. Hope you’re okay.

the back wheels broke thru ..it was not to deep. got it out easy enough just lucky it could of been a lot worse if it was deeper and colder.
be careful around heaves and cracks

Where about are you referring to? I'm heading to Mulhurst tomorrow and intend to walk out from boat launch...

You’ll have no issues walking on. Bring some crimp-ons as there are some slick spots.

One of my friends mentioned there were people fishing and skating on Spray last week, so I thought I'd give it a try today near Sparrowhawk. Ice was about 5", with about 1.5" of that being ****ty ice on top, so use caution until this cold weather sticks around for a few days. Caught a few fish, but it was a pretty slow day overall for me.

Friday Dec 11 - 2” - walked along shore chopping holes for about 30 yards and turned back was consistent 2” and not close to ready.

Heard on Ched that a poor soul dropped his side by side in Jackfish clearing snow for a rink and didn't make it out. Condolences to the family and friends.

With the warm temps we have had, you never know how much ice is below you. Stay safe during the early ice season.

Was out at Pigeon to day, about 300 ft from boat launch at mulhurst. 8 fow and ice 10.5 inches thick...

Chain lakes south 9" great ice. That being said,, bit of a north>south buckle on the south end closer to shore but stable, runs in line with where the ice road usually runs. No vehicles in ice which made for a gorgeous day, 5 landed and released, very small.

Also we're going into a higher wind chinook from now till x-mass,, overnights will make great ice and the wind should level things up nicely.

I did some exploring at pigeon lake
South of Golden Days I went to 25 feet of water and there was 14” of ice.
A few walleyes
Sorry to see a tent going 30 kph at 2:00
I hope it got collected, someone had a long jog

Ouch! Yeah, you think shore would be a go but it break up there often. Especially after windy times. That sucks for that guy for sure but at least he should be able to get tow help to get out of there if not already.

Early season...why chance it. Lots of nice cold weather to come in December to make it safe. In the meantime, I don't mind walking out at all.
