Default Wab , Townsite

As we walked out, There would be spots where you were walking and would sink 4" into the iced up Floodwater, and then you would hit some solid spots,

But we drilled about 10 - 15 Holes on our way out and it was Average 4-6" Of white Ice and 2" of Black Ice

Lots of flood water on one hole, 30 Feet Over , No Flood Water, Lots of the flood water has been freezing good,

Default Severen dam

Well if you want a trout pond near rosebud/standard area Severn dam is froze over with ~8" of ice. Was out there with my son today, but due to mechanical failure of my auger we only cut two holes. No fish but still a great time! One warning travel around the lake is very limited (snowmobile only type limited!!!!) well until they plow the road around!!! Had great luck last couple years!!! Many more trips to come hopefully!

Default spray

Just got back from spray, surprisingly only 6 inches of ice out from sparrowhawk, but good hard Ice. Less surprising was it was bitterly cold with crazy wind.
Fishing was real slow, 1 landed and 3-4 bites between 3 of us. We were in 99 ft, fish and hits were between 60-75 ft

I know your intentions are genuine CBass but I've seen people get in trouble like this before. So more than anything just trying to cover your Canadian Bad Ass.

Conditions change and there can be variations in ice thickness as we all know. Would hate to see something happen and someone say well he said it was good.

Just a reminder to use caution and use your best judgment out there.

Chain lakes west of nanton had a good seven inches of ice yesterday. Got some decent fish but they are smaller on average than last year.

So would that not apply to this thread entirely? Conditions can change on any lake.....at any time of year.

Went out to Salters trout pond for a few hrs to kill some time. 7-8" of ice & 13 mallards hanging around the aerator. Saw a few, landed a few released them all. Felt good to be back out on the hardwater.

Should be 8 to 10 inches at the popular spots, looked like a pressure crack near the drive on at Jackfish a couple weeks ago . Just remember there are always bad areas on Newell for driving all winter. May hit up Jackfish oneday this weekend too, looking for a rematch from last season

Default Wabamun

At golf course area once you get out its a solid 6 or so inchs with flood water however right by shore theres a small creek and some open water, there was a path between the reeds that was about 2 inches thick super sketchy but didnt break through. Except i ventured in to the reeds to test and fell through up to my sensitive area for a few steps before i got back onto the path out of the reeds. So be careful

But yes, I will hold back on my reports now, So if any one wants ice reports. GO DRILL HOLES !

lol,

I have been out now on wab, drilled over 30 holes, And every where was completely safe, Now even if I read that , Example

AJ told me last week , wab is good,
But I still test drilled all the way out !

Don't take someones words as truth,. But more as a guideline !
