All I know is to wrap up your fish in a wet towel, followed by (if possible) an airtight bag and put it in the freezer. Sooner the better, get pictures right away so the taxidermist can see what the fish looked like as it will start to lose its natural color shortly after death.

If you find out anything about a good taxi south of Calgary, let me know.

Rich Gensch in Bonner Montana is a National Champion fish taxidermist and will do skin mounts or replicas. Both are priced at $15/inch. I caught a 10lb walleye with him this past August and he is doing it for me. Buckhorn Taxidermy

Your better off to cover the wet fish in borax , it will lock the color in . Then wrap it in newspaper and put it in a bag. Dont let them bang around on the ice to much either it will scar them up. A fish mount always looks better when you dont have to apply gobs of cover paint to hide the blemishes.

skin mounts are a thing of the past. (waste of trophy DNA) replica mounts let you have the best of both worlds . trophy fish still swimming ,beautiful mount on the wall. unless you are as fortunate as mr speckle 55 and have a world record fish, why kill the fish of a life time its 2012 catch up guys

!0% of all the fish you release die anyway. Thats one in 10. Whats wrong with taking that one home (where legal).? Its a personal choice anyway ,i release all mine but i dont beat anybody down for wanting to take one home.

not beating any body down, just suggesting that skin mounts are a thing of the past.and I hope the one in ten I release do better than the average. I have no prob with a guy keeping a fish, but let the big one go to grow more big ones. that's all

I don't know how good they look but I know you can order them through bass pro catalog. But you have to pay the freight from the US. Just google it
