Default Sturgeon bait

Myself, I prefer 3 big dew worms at a time but my fishing partner prefers a big minnow and often out fishes me. Bring both.

I guess they work great south of the boarder.

Was fishing last night on NSR and a duck was swimming by with 5 ducklings.
Then splash and then there were 4. One hr later a splash and then there were 3 . Found mother on the shore after that with her 3 . The splash was like a beaver smacking its tail 25 ft in front of use .

Probably a big pike having lunch. I've seen and caught some big pike in the NSR.

Last year I started using a worm minnow combo and it seems to have increased the number of sturgeon I've caught. I take a worm and start it on the hook with just 1 poke through....then I put a minnow on through the body first then back through the gill plate ...then I wrap the worm around the minnow 2 or 3 times and hook it again on the tip so there's still at least an inch or two trailing off the hook (if that all makes sense lol). If I'm getting low on worms I just run the minnow with half a worm as a trailer off the hook. I use a slider rig with 4/0 octopus hook.
