Default Pigeon Lake water conditions.

How’s the water looking at Pigeon Lake? Thinking of heading that way, but wouldn’t mind saving myself the drive if the water is getting too dirty with algae. Thank you very much for the reports!

Friends are out there right now . A few dead fish are on the shore .I am guessing white fish that can't handle the heat .

Trigger, my truck had a sleep over in the repair shop so no Pigeon Lake today. I will go next week as my truck will be ready today. There were no minnows at Cabela's yesterday so I bought smelts. Never used smelts for walleye so next week I,ll see how they work.

Went on Sunday and Monday. Water is pretty green.
Quite a few floating whitefish like people have mentioned.
Trolling was the ticket for us. Sunday a blue/silver crank. Monday spinner-rigs with worms or chicken skin was better.
If you haven’t used chicken skin, give it a whirl. Nice movement in water and tough enough to really stay on the hook. Only downside is it can sometimes get dirty if jigging on the bottom.

Default Pigeon Lake water

Last time we were at Pigeon, we had great luck using strips of beef heart on our spinner rigs. Cut them in strips to look like a worm. Works great, and you can always get some at a butcher shop.
