Default Ithaca mod 72 part needed

Hi there, I recently purchased a mod 72 saddle gun 22 lr, The rifle would not cycle the ammo properly. Today i dismantled the action and found the bullet carrier has a spring and detent ball, and the ball was missing.
Anyone know where I could find one in AB? I could order from the US but most places are shut down. The illustration I found on line has it as a # 12 in the picture. Thanks Phil.

Best bet in Canada is go to a place that sells bearings and just buy a selection of close sizes. Outside of Western Gun Parts I can't think of anyone that might have that part in Canada as the gun hasn't been made for a long time.

Thanks Dean, if I could find a #5 steel shot I think it would work. I inserted it with a # 5 lead shot and it seemed to work. Just for a test run mind you. lead wouldn't last very long. Is there such a thing as # 5 in steel shot? Maybe steel shot may be too soft also.

Yes but it is usually on the rough side. If you go that route I would try #5 copper plated but to be honest if you have the shot for comparison just go buy a ball bearing. Smooth, last forever and very hard material;.

Online source for loose bearings if no one near u has them.
