I will also be shooting a 243 win. A lowly old savage that has had better days but had killed a ton of coyotes and deer in its life and will continue doing so this year. I did not develop a new load for this event with match bullets, I will be shooting my everything load of the Barnes 80gr ttsx over top of imr 4831. Expensive but reliable.
You need one without the coily cord or the 6 foot antenna.

Two guys have backed out already. One because he messed up his shoulder doing other recreational activities. And one because of family issues.
I will be using their entry fees to get a couple more door prizes.

I've also solicited the services of a couple real hard nosed sort of fellas to keep things in order and on track while the event is being run.
Welcome our RSO's: Backwoods Runner and Rugersingle.

I'm flat out a work, but I'm hoping for a short day on Thursday, and I have Friday off for sure.

Lets have a great weekend gang.

I know Gene, but don't know Rugersingle. Either way, you always pick them well and run a great event Dick. This will be awesome as it always is thanks to you....:sHa_shakes hout:

Ya gotta stay Saturday night..... That's almost as much fun as the shoot itself.

My rig is full up, but I'll pack the tent along just in case.

I'm sure somebody will have a table you can sleep on or under in an RV, mind you.

I've consulted two different long range weather forecasts for the 8th, and things look like we are in for good conditions on the day of the shoot.

Here's hoping, and we go, rain or shine, incase anyone is wondering.

You do realize that reading tea leaves have been proven unfounded and that the red neck weather rock is only real time ??

My weather rock got stolen last week, along with two garbage bags full of cans and bottles, and a half full jerry can with old gas, diesel, varsol, water, methanol and soap.

Lol. Weather rock.

Hey dick don't bring your tent on my account. Thanks though. My hunting cabin is not far away. And at the least I'll just crash in my pick up truck. Or bring my own tent or heck bring my camper. Just depending on work and not sure what I wanna do yet ( camper is east of Ponoka ) Is all. Slept in my truck b4 with these type of things. Which is fine.

A special thanks to PartTimeHunter for the door prize donation.

Ar500, 3/8" thick. Manufactured just south of DV.

I never drive south without a back up for matches or hunting , crap happens and I refuse to sit out as a spectator !
Not that my rifle us a delicate piece of machinery like the sights on s Palma rifle or a scoped rifle, but one must be prepared for any emergency!

Packing, and then packing some more. Guns, ammo, range kit, lawn chair, camera, luggage, Bulls eye camera, 20 gauge ammo for door prize, bucket of hulls for Leo check, check....did I forget something?.....oh yeah! the belt buckles.....

I gotta check a couple of ammonia compressors on my way through the big city. Stop in an pick up a gun stock from Hunter1602 and then pedal to the metal. So stoked....should be there around 5 or 6 I hope. So you guys wait for me to shoot the BR's OK.

Given the prizes that Lee displays, plus that gong from PTH, the Bullseye shooting camera, and Lord knows what else, plus the belt buckles, that is gonna probably be one of the memorable ones. Of course, let's not forget all of the new faces from AO that can be associated with a forum handle.

I was thinking of leaving the 1st place buckle right here where it belongs....what do you think, counting my chickens before they hatch perhaps...LOL

well i didn't have much/any time for load development so i'm only shooting a 1" group out of the rifle i plan to use

hopefully the fact that it fits me really well is going to overcome that... or else i have to hold a 19 pound gun and i think that wont happen

If you can shoot a 1" group offhand you are going to be a threat!

i delegated the cheesecake to travis; we'll see if the rookie comes through. pretty big shoes to fill, mrs. custom gunworx made a hell of a cheesecake!!
bob won't be there this year, if you haven't heard the news, he was asked to shoot for team canada at the world f-class shoot held in ontario, so all his spare moments are focused on practice and f-tr competition.
a big congrats to a guy that really sacrificed and gave his all to get to his goal of being on the team.
pretty proud to say that i have a few guns smithed by him with jury barrels, and that obviously his work and our local barrel maker are able to supply competition worthy world class shooting equipment.
he's actually leaving saturday for a match at connaught next week.

Bob's accomplishment is no small feat by any measure. Sure would be nice to see the team win or even place in the top 3. Best of luck Bob, go git 'em.

I delegated the desert thing to my wife. I can't cook to save my life and she is pretty handy in the kitchen. I can't guarantee cheesecake but I'm sure whatever she builds will be great.
