Way to go. Now it will probably rain all weekend.

Does make a person wonder what the trash talking at the firing line is like.

There's actually very little banter at the firing line.

Mainly because its only the shooter and the RO up there, and everyone else is on the bleachers, waiting their turn, and socializing.

There's that word again! Socializing.

Whodathunkit, meeting, talking, visiting, learning, interacting, with other like minded people. Is a recipe for a good time.......

I choose the RO's, I choose them with the intent of them being benign and fair.

Default Due to family issues...

With both the missus and my dad having a rough go of it,
I think I have to back out.
I sincerely hope that my spot can be filled in the next while.
And to our gracious host, please keep the entry fee, maybe use it for someone who desperately wants to come?( an incredibly early pif? Ken?)
I would gladly be able to come, visit and shoot with you all, but that would mean the family was all good.
Have fun everyone keep posting pics

That is too bad So Nova, but family does come first and foremost. I hope that it's not too serious of an issue, best of luck.

My wife has accompanied me to all of the rodeos thus far. This year, she won't make it as she has an appointment with her talent agent that would not be a good idea to miss. So, it'll be my lonesome self travelling should anyone want to ride shotgun from this neck of the woods.

Yeah I really, really wish it wasn't bad.
They're both young men from my point of view.

Ahhh, the dreaded yellow plaid shirt. Too funny, no one would understand the humor unless they'd been there before. Have you registered Lefty ? I do fear the yellow plaid shirt. LOL.

Should I be worried? I'm already worried about making a fool of myself.....and now a cryptic yellow shirt threat... I'd better do some more shooting this weekend. I've never shot in one of these, hopefully you guys won't laugh at me too much

Fear not! The yellow shirt....once the shoot starts the smack talk ends. The fun ensues.

That should be your last worry. This is a great group of guys that I found very friendly. In my mind the shooting was almost secondary to just getting out and being with a bunch of good guys. I had planned on going this year until other family things got in the way.
Have fun, I'm a little jealous of you. Enjoy Duceman's cooking be ready for some friendly banter, some great prizes, some humbling and fun shooting.

If you have some shooting / reloading supplies to horse trade with there is some of that going on as well. Take some extra cash incase someone has some goodies you want to buy and the cash shoot.

Dang I wish I was going...

Edit. Don't forget sunglasses, if the gleam off Lefty's head doesn't get you the glow from Gitrdun's ammo box surely will!

Mooseknuckle asked me to post this closed circuit TV still frame video evidence of Gitrdun's last doctor trip...

Don't shoot the messenger...

You dont have much to worry about. Heck, I haven't pulled a trigger in over two weeks now. I haven't even sat down to load ammo yet. Now that I said that I have to go.

That's what I've been told. There is a link to a map on the first page of this thread. I haven't quiet wrapped my head around it yet but I hope there are some signs.

Default Camping

The area for camping is just outside the gates of the range. When you get there you can't miss it.

Get there early for a good spot!

Have fun guys, straight shooting.

This is how I generally travel:

North on #2 to Ponoka turn off. West on #53 past Rimbey. North on #22. West on 616. Then north on RR71 which I think is called the Buck Lake Rd. Go past the campground on your right. Look out for a little sign on your left that says "Evergreen Club" or something. Keep a sharp eye, it's small and you're going in the bush. The road winds and goes down towards the river. The map that I posted earlier should also help you. Drive carefully, folks can come flying out of nowhere on their ATV's. Range is on the left side.

The wind has finally died down here, and it's been 31 above. But this evening will be perfect for shooting. I'm going to check out my calculated MPBR for Min. zero and Max. zero based on the calculated data for the .243 68gr Berger Match FP's. I suspect it's going to be close.

Thanks for the driving directions. Your map no longer works on my phone.

I will also be shooting a 243 win. A lowly old savage that has had better days but had killed a ton of coyotes and deer in its life and will continue doing so this year. I did not develop a new load for this event with match bullets, I will be shooting my everything load of the Barnes 80gr ttsx over top of imr 4831. Expensive but reliable.
