Good choice! I have been shooting my Browning A bolt 7 mm Rem. Mag. with a VXII. 3-9 x 40 for many years now and love having the variable power.

I have never had a problem and as a matter of fact, I have only had to readjust the sighting once, that's how we'll they stand with the 7 mm mag.

I have sat a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope on my rifle for 5ish years now. I would say don't feel pressured to dump a huge amount of money on a scope. You don't need to be able to count the eyelashes on a deer or moose to do the job.

This is why I think a fixed four or six power is probably just as fit for application and a better/more rugged fit for the rifle. Also, IIRC the 4x33mm was brighter than the 3-9x40 at the range.
