I've always been a .308 man. I used that calibre in the army from 1974 and onwards. It's done the job of harvesting everything from coyotes with (150 gn FMJ) to Whitetail and Mule deer (155 gn hornady AMAX) . I now use .223 for coyotes. I see no reason to go to another calibre.
