Default First new guns in 20+ years

I used to hunt years ago but gave it up after being shot at while out deer hunting. And then the F.A.C. came into being and just never seemed to make the time to apply for one. Fast forward to today and my wife and I both just bought our first guns as a couple. For my wife who is very new to shooting(been to the range a couple of times) a Ruger sp101 22LR. For myself a Ruger Blackhawk 357 mag and a Chiappa lever action also a 357mag.

Nice, are you getting back into hunting? Or just going to take up shooting and collecting?

Maybe a little of both. My guns all went to other family members when I quit hunting and the whole long gun registry debacle came out, hoping I can reclaim some of them now that my wife is on board for shooting. Had a really nice 257 Roberts from the early 50s that was an uncle's who past away before I was born that I would really like to get back. They were all given away so I don't feel bad about asking for a couple of them back

Congratulations on your return to the Shooting Sports Sir!

Most unfortunate about the incident last time you were out Hunting. Truly, a terrible thing to find out about.

Those are fine pieces you two have got there. I hope they bring your Wife and yourself many years of joy. All the best!

Double "good for you" for getting back into shooting, and getting your wife into it too!

I have a Ruger Mark III hunter that is a fabulous gun. Highly accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. If you ever buy on, you'll want to also invest in an "Ultimate Clip Loader" you can save wear and tear on your fingertips reloading the magazines.

So my wife thought is was unfair that I got both a rifle and a revolver and she only got a revolver. With that said she had very specific wants for her first rifle: 22 cal pump action wood stock. So with that in mind I have been keeping an eye out for one, and we found one today that is in like new condition. I don't think it has fired a whole lot of rounds through it and a fair price as well. It is a Winchester model 62 and from the serial number on it, it was made in either 1940 or 1947. Took it out an ran 30 rounds through it and she loves it. This could soon become a very expensive hobby.
