Guys does any one here own a Tohatsu outboard ? Im buying a new boat. My deal suggested the 2020 TOHATSU 115HP OUTBOARD MOTOR instead of the mercury XS pro 115. Any comments and opinions would be appreciated on both the Tohatsu and Mercury . Thanks in advance
Quick google says it’s the same engine as the 115 Honda.
If it was my money I would buy a Suzuki or yamaha but it would depend on the deal too. I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with a Honda. Resale on a tohatsu seems like it would be more difficult because it lacks brand recognition.
Only concern with Tohatsu is the smaller number of dealers for warranty work and resale in the future. You can find Merc, Honda, Yamaha dealers a lot easier than a Tohatsu.
