Default First Camo Job on the Rem 870 - Opinions?

Well I m pretty new to the whole hunting, shooting world but I picked myself up a used Remington Express Magnum 870.

When I first got it the parkerize was pitted and it and it wear and tear on the outside of the barrel and wood stock.

I first refinished the stock with some Circa 1870 and then restained it natual and sealed it with satin finish varathane...that came out great.

Then I tried to re blu some of the bare spots but it looked bad so, scotchbrite and some steel wool, took it down nice a clean and gave everythign a camo job.

I did alot of research and did not like anything I saw so I did my own. What do you experienced guys think? Looking for feedback.

Thanks in advance -Jeff

Looks great. I'm thinking about doing mine too. What did you use for paint?

Well, I tried to get duracoat but it took a couple a weeks for it to come. So instead I used an armor coat primer. Then I found Krylons camo paint but, the sprau bombs have a terrible spray pattern.

So I sprayed the krylon in a bottle, and thined it out to use in my airbrush.
They have the brown, khaki and green.

I used Testors metal paint for the light tan colors.

Let it dry for a few hours and then sealed it with 3 coats of varathane spray.
Dried for 24 hours. Wet sand 1200 grit to smooth out the texture

My experience with painting stocks is that non catalyst paints will not last in harsh invironments, rattle can ,air dry paints are only temporary...
